I want to go to University in America, but which state?

I am a 16 year old girl living in England and I have just left High School. I'm going to College next year to do Physics, Maths, History and Technology A-levels. I want to go to University to study Architecture. I decided on University in either Canada or America for a new adventure and experience, but I'm not sure where the best place would be? Bearing in mind, my parents and I can't afford to send me somewhere mega expensive. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated! :-)
