It is ok to take my atiels food bowl out of his cage at night?

The reason I am asking is because every night he sleeps on his food bowl( because it is close to my bed) but, every morning when I wake up I notice that he keeps on soiling his food. So I thought a good solution would be taking out his food bowl at night so this will not be an issue... Is this ok???
