Which is more fuel-efficient: Infiniti i30 or i35?

The i30 has a 3.0L V6, but the i35 has a much larger 3.5L V6. Both are rated equally by the EPA... in fact it looks like the i35 might actually be better. How can this be if the engine is larger???
